One-off Events

Upcoming irregular & one-off events

In addition to regular scheduled events, private events and Anglican usage, the past usage of the Old Friary included events of community interest (see Recent Events).  Here we provide a list of events that are of interest to the wider community. The Events Calendar gives dates for scheduled events.

Past events of public interest included: -

Folk at the Friary: A joyful night of eclectic music comprising folk/choral/blues/chalkboard acts which represents a slice of Australia's live folk scene.

Special Taizé service: Brings together Taizé devotees from the wider Brisbane community for a more elaborate than usual Taizé service in the Chapel.

Art Exhibitions & openings: St Christopher's Lodge is usually full of beautiful and interesting artworks.  This year we have a full program of exhibits.

David Binns Memorial Lecture: An erudite public lecture on a theological topic to celebrate the life and ministry of the late Fr David Binns, founder of the Brookfield Centre for Christian Spirituality, is held every two years in October.

Friary Sings! - Brings together local community choirs for a sublime afternoon of choral music in the superb acoustics of the Chapel.
